My mother is at my sisters house being cared for by her sister in law Lynn. I don’t think the care is good enough and I’ve mentioned my grievance which only got me permanently unwelcome in her home now I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to see my mother again. I’m not sure how to get visitation to see my mother when she is in a home I’m not welcomed.

Hi Brian. So sorry you find yourself in such a painful situation.

Who has power of attorney for your mother? That person is ultimately responsible for her care. One way or the other (but especially if no one has POA), you probably need to talk to an elder law attorney (Look at nelf.org) about what you options are. These folks can be very helpful not only in being sure the proper legal documents are in place, but in long-term financial planning of how to dispense her assets and qualify her for Medicaid, should that be needed for long-term care. I wish you well-keep us posted on what happens. There are plenty of other families here who have dealt or are dealing with inter-family conflict about the care of their LO with dementia.
