...TWICE!

The dementia family caregiver documentary, "Wine, Women, & Dementia" took home the Jury Award for Best Documentary Feature AND Audience Choice Award for Best Documentary Feature at last week's Vero Beach Wine and Film Festival! We've added the latest accolades to our Audience Choice Award from Julien Dubuque Int'l Film Festival. :)

Caregivers, we are living out loud and celebrating our stories of tragedy and triumph!

Next up for "Wine, Women, & Dementia" - Deep in the Heart Film Festival in Waco, Texas!

That’s wonderful!!! I have loved following your story and felt your loss when your mom passed. We live in Texas and if I can find a caregiver for my HWD, I might be able to travel to Waco.

@Rick - we are trying to get a festival in every state, but I don't think that's gonna happen! I'll keep you updated on new acceptance notices, because I am absolutely thrilled when someone I've been virtually in this together with shows up at a screening!

We had two sisters attend at Vero Beach who have been long time Stumped Town Dementia readers attend! One of them lives in the area and one flew down from Pennsylvania! It was so cool to meet them.

@Jgirl57 - that would be amazing! Could your husband watch the film too if you can't get coverage? You will be in an audience of mostly caregivers who are totally going to get it if he gets fidgety! Regardless, let me know if you can make it via email at [email protected] so we can swap BIG HUGS!

@M1 & HarshedBuzz - thanks so much guys. This has absolutely been a group effort between the cast and post production team, but I'll take the credit while they ain't looking! ;)

@MM & Beachfan - wouldn't that be incredible? Our caregiver stories getting that level of exposure? I'm guessing it's a pretty big long shot, but I like the way you two think! Any chance you can become an Academy Member in the next couple of months to get the ball rolling? :)
