Roaming

Hey all! My mom has had a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s for about 4ish years. My dad passed away last August and we never knew how bad her progression was, he hit it from us. We have been dealing with a lot of her roaming at night and going through things that we have hidden and now it’s too a point we have to be on her 24/7, I even lost a job due to this. My question is, is there anything we can do to control this besides putting locks on all the doors in the house? The other day she found a shot gun shell that was hidden in a bag in the basement that has a lock on it. We are really nervous that she may find something that we didn’t and harm herself. Finding the ammo was just one thing she had done, she has also turn the kitchen apart while we sleep. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are going to get neurologist today. Thank you!!!!

    Hi @MGariti

Welcome. I am sorry for the loss of your dad and for the situation in which you find yourselves.

I hope the neurologist was able to address some of the issues you are having. How did it go?
