New to site. Caring for live in dad with dementia. Any information would be appreciated. Need a friend or nurse to come in once a week to visit.

    Hug him and tell him you love him often.

    Be aware that some days are harder, and the glimpses of joy are the best.

    The days are long but the years are short.

    There are many great AD products online that will help with caregiving and eating.

    Check his bone density with his doctor to ensure that any fractures or dangers are contained or at bay.

    Not every diagnosis follows the same blueprint, but routinely visiting with your doctor helps. If it’s early enough, you can see what support you can get at this time.

    As dreary as this is, if you have no ideas how your father would like his funeral to be like, this is good to know too. Knowing what they would want in the end helps.
