Ed haven't seen posts from you in a couple of days, just checking in given that you are having to play roulette with your octreotide. Hope all is okay....

I too hope Ed is doing OK. It so frustrating (and scary) to have to self-ration needed meds for any reason.

Thank you all for being concerned. I actually got the octreotide made by a different manufacturer. The only downside is that it is about 40% more expensive and I have to fill the syringes. Other than that, I'm OK.

I haven't been online much for a few days. Still dealing with my son, but things are going in the right direction for him now. Hooray!!

And I decided to try something new. I'm trying to raise a few monarch butterflies, whose numbers are going down pretty drastically. I started out with 5 eggs and 2 caterpillars. The cats are only about 1/2 inch long, and I already lost one of them. But I'm a newbie.

I hope you are all hanging in there, and doing well.

Ed, I know you will enjoy raising the monarchs as much as I do! I've been doing it for 5 years now. I too started after reading about the decline in their population. It has become therapeutic for me to tend to the milkweed, eggs, cats, then seeing the butterfly emerge and fly away! There have been times when I check in the morning only to find bare leafed plants and have to take off to the nursery for more milkweed.

Good luck on your new endeavor!

Glad you're okay Ed. What an interesting activity! It must be an amazing process watching the transformation from the caterpillar to an adult butterfly.

I have been raising monarch butterflies for 2 years at my home in South Florida. The milkweed plants I have are grown in containers and does not take long for a caterpillar to ravage the leaves.

    M1, great pic!!

Caro_Lynne, that's a keeper. And that girl is a beauty!

Donr and Caro_Lynne, it's good to know others are doing it too. I've already made a rookie mistake.

Thanks guys ❤️. She loves having sleepovers at my house; however, since LO's been home (over a year) it's been difficult. I'm always so tired and taking care of him 24/7 is draining.

Ed, there's so much to learn about raising monarchs!
