Acknowledging Tony Bennett
On the old version of this site I would have put this in "musings", but we don't have that anymore so I thought I'd put it here.
I saw the news this morning that he passed away at age 96.
From the article:
He wrote on Twitter: “Life is a gift – even with Alzheimer’s.” It was revealed that while his cognitive function was impaired, he was still able to sing a whole range of his repertoire.
I was lucky to be able to see one of his shows - and he was great. It was in San Francisco in 1993, and he played with They Might Be Giants, Evan Dando (Lemonheads), and the band I was there to see - The Wonder Stuff. Such a diverse group of bands, and he somehow fit it perfectly, and everyone loved him. It was a fantastic show.

Thank you. I didn't hear of his passing, but I was just wondering about him a couple days ago. He was a real talent. And he and Lady Gaga made quite a team. I'm sure she's crushed. They were very close.
