Does a spouse have the right to visit husband in memory care facility?

My step father was moved from hospital to nursing home and now into memory care. (The facility doesn’t accept Medicare or Medicaid which may make a difference?) My mother has Alzheimer’s. She married her husband in 2016 and has never been liked by the 4 grown sons of her husband. They met her at the beginning of her illness so it is easy for me to understand how her personality morphed from a lovely woman to a loud, brash, and pretty annoying person would have made a bad impression. I don’t much like her like this BUT she and my stepfather are bonded. She doesn’t recognize her own children but she has never forgotten her husband. It’s been 2 months since she has seen him and they both ask for each other daily. One of his sons directed the facility to not allow my mom to visit. Do residents have rights once they are in memory care? There is no violence or fighting or arguing or commotion in their history and we took her daily for 3 months to visit him at the nursing home and besides my mom dressing crazy she wasn’t a problem for other residents or staff. Ever. I feel so sorry for my step father who believes had of his family and his wife just stopped caring about him. Do people lose their right to everything once they are in memory care? So spouses have the right to see each other, regardless of whether a 50 year old man likes his stepmother or not?

I would consult with an Elder Law Attorney regarding your mom's rights in this specific instance.

I assume one of the stepdad's adult sons has POA and is decision maker now.
