Hi there…. New to the forum. My 73 yo father came to live with my family last September. He was diagnosed with early onset dementia about 7 years ago. I am 48, my husband is 63, and we have a 20 yo special needs son that is living with us as well. He came to us in an emergency situation, as his roommate could no longer stand him. We’ve been in a holding pattern with him and his health ( mild stage), but my little family unit is deteriorating under his being here constantly. I don’t know any other options for us. He still talks to friend back home ( we had to move him 300 miles from the town he’s always lived in. Open for suggestions

welcome to the forum. You mentioned roommate-was he in a facility of some kind? Is that an option in your town where you are now? You may want to contact your local Council on Aging about other community resources too.
