Just this week started sleeping all day
Hi, it's been a long while since I posted or even visited the site (since before the format changed.) DW is now 5 1/2 years into EO Alz. She has been on an even keel for a while, but just this week her sleep behavior has changed drastically. She was always ready to get up every morning to get dressed and eat breakfast. However, on Monday of this week she stayed in bed until 2:30 PM, and was asleep most of that time. This behavior has continued all week, with varying wake times. Yesterday I finally had to lift her out of bed at 4:00 pm because she was soaked.
Is this just another step in the progression or is something else going on?

Possibly caused by UTI. Might be worth having it checked. If you have it checked, ask for a culture with it. That will give them the information for best antibiotic to use if there is an infection. There are silent UTIs, so no other typical symptoms are to be had if that's what it is. UTIs can cause many symptoms, and some can be quite hard to handle for the caregiver and the afflicted.
