Hi, I hope everyone is doing well. It has taken me awhile to say that I need some one to talk to that is going through the same thing that I am. About a couple of years ago, my brother was diagnosed frontlube dementia...during this time his wife had passed away. I was asked by our parents to work with him on finances and odd and ends that comes up. The hard part for me is having to do this long distance. I just need to talk.

TheresaF - I, too, have a brother with mild cognitive decline. He's 66 and on one coast, I'm 64 and on the other. My mom passed following dementia (in her 70's), my dad after Alzheimers (days before turning 90) so I've been down this road before. For me, it's harder as my brother is very bright, had a great career, and is very social. All that seems to be floating away and he's not dealing with it well. He loses words, forgets mid-sentence, and now he's become fearful of driving (he's gotten lost) and cooking (he's afraid of the gas stove). I think in both instances something negative happened due to those events. He wants to be around people but he is all too aware he can't follow conversations and gets very anxious about it. Have you any suggestions for me? Lisa
