A sweet moment

My DH is in memory care and on hospice. He uses his walker and eats pureed food for all 3 meals. When I visited yesterday, I asked him if he knew who I was. He speaks very few words. He shrugged his shoulders. I pointed to my wedding ring and then he pointed to his and leaned over to give me a kiss. That was so touching. Somedays he knows who I am and will say I am his loving wife or " adoring " wife.

He is definitely stage 7 +. He has been there a bit over a year. I could no longer take care of him after 5 yrs due to serious bathroom problems . ( Crohn's disease ) For those of you who are also at this stage, my heart goes out to you. It is a Catch -22. I can't imagine not ever seeing him again after he passes away but also can't imagine living like this for many more months.( psychologically and financially ) He is 93 and I am 84 .

Elshack, Thank you for sharing. Moments like this are heart warming, hang onto it. My wife is also in early stage 7 and pretty much non verbal but every non and then she will break into a big smile when I arrive for a visit. Those days I believe she recognizes me.
