I have noticed that just 2 months into symptoms, her "F"s , "P"s and "th" are sounding funny. What does this mean? What is happening to her verbal skills?

Hi Horatio - welcome to 'here', but sorry for the reason.

2 months into symptoms of....? If it is dementia, verbal skills are commonly affected. This can happen with any of the dementias. Often, it can happen early in the disease.

My mother has a variety of verbal errors. She can't think of common words. She often transposes letters or gets only the front sound of a word correct. Sometimes she comes up with words that don't exist at all. It doesn't happen very often, but on occasion, Mom will string a bunch of sounds together that make no sense. They all it "word salad." Because Mom often brings up the same topics of conversation when we visit, I can fill in the gaps pretty well now. As I understand it verbal issues are very common for PWD. It's frustrating.
