We too made it all these years without getting Covid. Until August. I got it first and then gave it to my DH who has copd. I got him on the paxlovid immediately and he did really well. I got on it after two days of being sicker than I had ever been. Helped me too. I’m happy to hear all worked out well for you as well.

Crushed, after dodging this thing for 3.5 years, DH and I both got covid the last week of September. Paxlovid, started the day after symptoms began for both of us, was nothing short of miraculous. DH, while still recovering, was back to baseline in strength and mentation in one day -- and the day he was bad, he was really bad. Hope your DW has the same speedy recovery. This variant seems awfully hard to avoid; we each have had six shots.
