    Welcome to the forum, this is a great online support group. Have you called your local Alzheimer's Association chapter and your local Council on Aging? They will know the groups in your area. Sometimes memory care facilities also run support groups, so you could also inquire there. I have participated in a couple of groups in my area but find more information and help here.

Commonly Used Abbreviations


DH = Dear Husband
DW= Dear Wife, Darling Wife
LO = Loved One
ES = Early Stage
EO = Early Onset
FTD = Frontotemporal Dementia
VD = Vascular Dementia
MC = Memory Care
AL = Assisted Living
POA = Power of Attorney
