We had a bed open up in a small group facility nearby, and we've seen dramatic decline in the past month or so especially with incontinence. So I'm putting everything in place to move him into this facility possibly as early as this Friday.

I've read here on several posts that once you move them in, you should leave them be for a few weeks to get acclimated which is good as we have a pre-planned trip to Oregon next weekend (21st). Any advice on this? We originally had my inlaws coming to stay with him but with all of the worsening of the incontinence, I didn't think it was fair to them, so if we don't get him placed before we leave, we'll just cancel our trip. Do you think it's courting disaster if we are out of town and something happens that the home decides they can't keep him during the first week or so? That's my big worry, which I know I'm over thinking (right?)
