Regarding Namenda

I have seen a few recent posts of newly diagnosed patients being prescribed Namenda as a first medication. Namenda has been suggested for mid-stage patients. Are doctors giving up prescribing Aricept or Exelon patch, which are suggested for early-to-mid-stage patients? Just wondering.

    My wife was on Donepezil but got side effect. She didn’t want to know from nurologist again. Was diagnosed last yr had her in clinical trial but felt rather her take a medication then not knowing. That’s where I’m at. Has short memory loss and confused at times and yes nasty at times.
