Temporary Mc stay?

My sister, who lives with me, recently fell and fractured a bone in her foot.

She is currently in rehab set to discharge this week.

The original plan was to bring her back home with me, but,.now I'm not so sure.

The orthopedic Dr has waffles a bit about how much weight she should bear on her injured foot.

My home is multiple levels and it seems all have agreed she can't go upstairs right now so we were planning to rent a bed to put in the living room for her. I would sleep on the couch or on an inflatable mattress in the same room so I can be available.

I have some steps leading up to the house. The physical therapist helped me order a ramp to handle most of the steps. He said she could use the door jamb to pull herself up that last step.

I'm nervous about that and am not sure I should bring her home. We also would have bathing challenges for both of us if she's home.

I work and take her to adult daycare every day and am worried about getting her in and out everyday.

So, now, we're discussing a short term stay in MC, but I'm concerned she may get up when she shouldn't and something could happen.

Is her foot in one of those special 'walking boots' and healing well? Not sure why the doc is wavering on how much weight. Maybe ask about that. For bathing, she could maybe use a shower-chair.

Check with her Insurance. Some will cover someone to come bath her and even sit with her. Some Medicare advantage programs even supply meals for 2 weeks after being in Hospital. I’d push for physical rehab place.
