What’s this diagnose mean??

Just called Nurologist to ask my wife diagnosis he said “ Moderate on set Dementia/Alz”. Any hear or know of this one ?? What stage you think it is???

have you called the ALZ helpline? 800.272.3900 They can probably help you get started on everything you’ll need to know - and I’m sure people will provide lots of help here too.

Usually "onset" refers to the age at which the person developed dementia. Early on set means symptoms were evident before 65 (I've also heard lay people use it to include 65-70). Late onset is when it develops much later in life; my friend's mom was diagnosed in her early 90s as "late onset".

It could refer to age of onset or to the stage. Best to ask the Dr what is meant.

Does the Dr. have a patient portal? Maybe you can look on there for his notes.
