The version of you that will handle that tough thing - if or when it happens - will be born into existence in that moment. Trust your future self to handle future problems.

Thank you for posting that, jfkoc. I really needed that today. Looking back, it does hold true for the most part once I accepted that my DH diagnosis is what it is. We found ways to deal with incontinence and other things that came along that get to be a routine and not as bad as I would have imagined.

    I needed that this morning!

My wife is still early in the process, and when I read about what's likely in our future I wonder how I will be able to handle it. I have no choice but to keep playing the hand I was dealt, and trust that I'll be able to do what needs to be done.

Also - this says to me, don't worry about things that may or may not happen in the future. If it does happen, deal with it then.

May God help us all as we deal with the issues that life brings.

    Hugs, Beth

    Well said.

Trying to see into the future can be overwhelming. I don't know what trouble or hardships or even relief the future holds, I don't know what today holds or the next few minutes but I hope my future self will be a bit wiser and more experienced to handle what comes. . . hopefully.
