How to get sleep for work the next day when your dad won't sleep and roams your house
My dad moved in with us and is to the point in his dementia where he roams at night and does not want to go back to bed. We have tried keeping him awake during the day as I can work from home, tried natural remedies such as melatonin, regular routines during the day and night, explaining why he needs to at least stay in his room while we sleep, etc. If we hire a caregiver for nighttime, he will argue with the caregiver and that will defeat the purpose. Any suggestions from those who have been through this?

Welcome to the forum. Talk to his docs, the answer for this is likely medication. Disturbance of sleep centers in the brain is part of the disease for many and can respond well to medication. My partner has done beautifully with low doses of Seroquel at bedtime (25 and now 50 mg).
