Taking forever to eat meals

Over the last few weeks, my MIL is showing some new behaviors. Most I recognize as signs of her dementia progressing.
But, is extremely slow eating part of dementia progression also? She still eats well, but she can take two hours to eat one small plate.

Yes.

Yes for us. The adult day care she briefly went to also complained about it. When we moved to finger foods it didn’t seem to take as long. When I began feeding her, things got quicker. Samples of “accept and adjust” situations.

Thank you. It’s always good to have confirmation of my suspicions. Definitely feel less alone.

Thank you M&M. I thought it was dementia related as dinner time when she’s most confused is much worse than breakfast.
