    Hopefully someone will determine that Tessier-Lavigne’s and his colleagues committed a crime vs just being highly paid unethical jerks. People like that need to be held accountable…

    I understand the fraud part. What exactly does the retraction mean in the treatment of dementia? Does it mean that researchers have been wasting their time researching false theories for several years? Does it have implications for the latest drugs that have been approved?

    QBC - my thoughts exactly. And I agree with Shark on the consequences of misleading this many people, the industry, etc. The implications are staggering.

    No implications for the current medications. It was a red herring research trail.

    @M1 - thank you for the quick response. I don’t intend to have either of my parents take the new medications anyway. Too many side effects for my comfort, too many treatment appointments for them to endure. It’s not effective for women and he’s got too many medical issues as it is.
