How does MC handle FI?

In the last couple of months my DW went from the occasional UI and FI incontinence to full blown dayile dbl. Every morning she is hysterical, screaming and yelling while I try to clean her up as well as the mess everywhere else not to mention trying to get her in the shower as that's the only way to get her clean sometimes.

I'm very much now considering placement but was curious how MC handles incontinence? I know it's not the hightlight of their day either but they are pros respectively. Must be hell for them to dealing with that day in and day out with multiple patients.

She doesn't have a UTI right now. She just finished up with one and I had another lab check done to make sure it was gone and it was.

Here neuro put her on 50mg of Zoloft but that doesn't help with morning hysterics. I have an appointment with a pharmacology specialist, scheduled by the neuro's office, regarding meds in Feb but not sure I'll make it until then. I know I have to quiet the hysterics down before placement but it's just crazy.

How frustrating! For one thing, they have someone they can ask for help--they don't have to do all the work one-on-one. They have floors that are easily cleaned and chairs that roll to the shower for blow-outs. They have narrow beds they can have one person on each side of, and roll the patient matter-of-factly to get changed. Their relationship is also different, and a person that gives family members a hard time about changes are often much more docile with staff. In addition, they have shifts and days off, rather than being on-call 24/7.

Hey there @ghphotog The screaming in the morning? My sister did that too. She was also on Zoloft (or whatever the generic is for it), and it did nothing for her. I was getting worried they were going to kick her out of memory care, so we tried some other drugs. The one that's working currently is Seroquel. It makes Peggy tired and she sleeps a lot more because of it, but she's not hallucinating, she's not screaming, so I'm calling it a win.

As for memory care taking care of resident's incontinence, everything @sandwichone123 said, is something I've experience also with Peggy's memory care facility. They're on it.
