Bible Verse to Lift You Up 1/15/24

Hello friends, for nine years, I took care of my mother with dementia and my stepdad who had kidney and heart failure. After they both passed, I felt lost for a while. I felt like I had PTSD. Taking care of them was the hardest thing I have ever done, and I had 2 people helping me. While taking care of my parents, I often sought God's help. He is faithful.

Please give yourselves time to grieve in your own way. There is no right or wrong way to grieve. And don't feel bad if you need to get some professional counseling or you seek a group for those grieving. I hope the following will give you a lift.

OUR HOPE IS GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE

Psalm 147:5

New Living Translation

5 How great is our Lord! His power is absolute!

   His understanding is beyond comprehension!

11 No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him,

those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

When the winds of sadness, sickness, stress, anger and fear are strong and steady, our hope is in God. We read above His understanding is beyond our comprehension and His power is absolute. While these two awesome traits point to His greatness, they do not necessarily mean He cares about you and me, but He does. We can count on His power, wisdom and His unfailing love when we call out to Him in prayer.

I can’t help but think of the verse John 3:16 that tells us God’s love for the world was so great He sent His Son; and if we believe in Him as our Savior, He gives us the gift of everlasting life to spend in His presence. Yes, our hope is surely in God’s unfailing love.

What is in your heart today that you will bring before the Lord in prayer?

My God, Your wisdom and power are beyond human understanding and so is Your unfailing love. May I love You with my whole heart. Amen.
