Seeing Colors

My wife is seeing blocks of blue whenever she looks at a window, then looks away. Anyone else have this perception? It isn't really a problem, just looking to see if others have this sort of halucination phenomonon.

Hello. My husband was seeing green circles on the wall when he looked out the window then looked away. I called the eye doctor and asked if they thought it was his eyes or the Alzheimer’s. She said that it was probably his Alz but suggested I bring him in to check his eyes. It was a hole in his retina. He was scheduled for surgery, but he was so upset and crying so hard that he was sobbing. I told him that he didn’t have to go through with the surgery. He was so relieved.

Thanks for your insight. Sometimes our people don’t recognize symptoms, I think. Probably should have my wife examined by an ophthalmologist.

My mil was seeing blue on the floor. Thinking it was water. Upset her for a while, everyone kept reassuring her she was safe. Eventually she just accepted it and would just mention it in passing. Good luck.. I am relatively new here. Nice to just read what is going on with others. Comforting even though each journey is unique. I’m earlier than some, for me it puts things in perspective.

Okay, this may sound bizarre. I have what is called Charles Bonnet Syndrome. Basically it means that due to damage in the pons area of the brain, my brain is compensating by creating visual hallucinations. That’s the very abbreviated version. So if that’s due to damage to my brain, then it does stand to reason that the symptoms you’re describing could be due to the damage happening in the Alzheimer’s brain. Certainly worth discussing it with your neurologist. It took me several months to find out what was causing mine. Turned out my husband’s neurologist figured it .
