My mom is in early ish stage of dementia and started taking the lowest dose fo seroquel twice a day for her delusions. She still has those delusions but they control her a bit less and she's more manageable and acts like herself more often now. I know you're not supposed to have alcohol when youre on Seroquel. My mom is really used to enjoying 1 to 2 small glasses of wine with dinner and I stopped letting her have wine recently because of the seroquel. Anyone have experience with someone on Seroquel for dementia-related delusions who also drank a tiny bit of alcohol here and there while on it? I hate to take away something she really enjoys but I also don't want to be irresponsible or harm her, hence why I am writing here. Is it really that bad to have it?

I think you're probably right to withold it. women in particular can be very sensitive to even small amounts of alcohol. Would she accept a nonalcoholic "wine" as an alternative? This is what is served at our memory care's weekly "wine and cheese." some of them are quite tasty.
