Hunger

Mom eats breakfast and then 45 minutes later is asking for more food. Does the same at lunch. Has a mid afternoon snack. Doesn’t seem to have problem at dinner time. Eats really fast - chewing food and has spoon lifted to out more in even though she’s not done chewing. When we try to get her to slow down she says she’s really hungry. Any suggestions for slowing down the eating process.

I wonder if finger food would slow her down a little? Bite-sized pieces, and utensils not an option? Sounds like she's probably lost her true appetite cues. You probably really have to exert portion control here, as weight gain could result.

We tried the smallest bowl spoon we could find. It helped a little, as well as constant reminders to take a break between bites, which unfortunately could cause anger.
