Palliative care team advice

My dad's palliative care team is really pushing hard on my mom to make arrangements for POA. I'm glad they're pushing that instead of my suggestion. My mom told me my uncle currently has POA but I called him about it and he said he is just the beneficiary of her will. Now, my nephew is sole beneficiary so my uncle's is revoked. Mom wants me to be sole POA. She knows I'm trustworthy and capable of handling it and knows I'm looking out for her best interest. The palliative care doctor is going to mail me the paperwork for both the medical and financial POA. I admit it's quite overwhelming knowing all the responsibilities entailed for being POA. I hope I can manage...

Mpang, why don't you discuss it with your own mental health team? Maybe that would give you some peace of mind about how to proceed.

M1, thanks for the advice. I have a case worker I see every month and she can have resources for me. Right now I'm just running in circles trying to do what is recommended by everyone. I feel like a broken record and I apologize to everyone that it's taking so long to get it done. It's just going to take some time but I hope things will finally fall into place.

You’ll be able to manage. Trust yourself, your mom does.
