Seroquel
Okay, got the 25 mg prescription. I guess it's best to take at night?

Yes, start with a nighttime dose--you could even give half the first night if you want--and work up from there. It's likely to make him sleepy to start with. If after a week you don't see a difference in his behavior at 25 mg at bedtime, you can add a morning dose and even a third midafternoon dose. Check with his doc of course, but that's a standard way to increase, approximately a week at a time at any given dose. Hope it helps.

The prescription bottle should say. Otherwise, I'd call the doctor and ask.
Most PWD take Seroquel at night to start. Dad took his around his dinnertime when he was on 25mg 1 X day primarily for disordered sleep and nighttime aggression. This was a bigger problem for us than talking dirty or being appropriate which we mostly managed by ignoring and avoiding taking him out for anything but a doctor's appointment.
When dad's sundowning started earlier, we added a second 25mg dose-- one with his morning meds around 10 and another after dinner.

Does the daytime dose make the PWD sleepy during the day?

I found on first use and any increase it can be sedating, but that doesn’t last more than 3-5 days and the desired effect of calming anxiety / agitation starts to help. We are now up to 100 at dinner which helps with sleep, 50 before breakfast and 50 at lunch. Unfortunately for us it has not lasted more than 6-8 weeks at each adjustment, needing to keep increasing and eventually will reach a limit. Everyone is different.
