They were the hardest years of my life. At some of my darkest moments I looked to this community for wisdom and support. You never let me down. So thank you Alzconnected and fellow care-givers for helping me on what seemed like a walk with no horizon. May you all continue to walk to your horizons in the knowledge that here in this space you among those that do understand and do care.

    Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and thank you for letting us know.

    Many of us here are in "Stage 8" and continue to share not only what was helpful to us living with the disease but also sharing living in Stage 8.

    Once a Doc: I sympathize with the loss of your spouse and your career. Have you been able to find meaningful substitutes? It is early days.

    Thank you all. We were fortunate to have family, friends and colleagues that supported us through it and are with me now. I have returned to part time practice and outside the home activities that were out of reach. For those that are able I encourage you to donate what you may be able to afford to the fight against Alzheimer’s and related diseases and the fight for those living with it. Prevention, treatment, and one day cure is not a forlorn hope for those living with this disease or for those who support, love and care for them.
