Wendy Mitchell has passed away

She wrote three books on her experiences having early onset dementia. I haven't read the last one, but I read the first two. Both of those books helped me understand how to stand in the shoes of someone with early onset.

My sister Peggy stopped being able to read very early on, so I read the first book to her. When I told her the title, Somebody I Used to Know, Peggy said "that's exactly how it feels, somebody I used to know."

RIP, Wendy.

I've also read the first two. Especially the first book was quite insightful.

Wow, we've lost quite an advocate.

Thank you for posting, GG. I had been meaning to read her books but I never got around to it. Her voice was very important because most PWDs cannot express themselves well orally or in written form for the world to learn about them.

    RIP Wendy Mitchell.
