In a safe place

DH lost his wedding rings about 6 weeks ago. We searched every place possible without success. Yesterday they mysteriously showed up. They had been in a very safe place……………inside his Bible. 😇 Ah, bless his heart.

You are lucky. My DW lost her wedding rings about 6 months ago. Might have been at a bowling alley. IF at home, extremely well hidden.

Ah yes, the putting things in safe places...we had many a similar search here, but not something as sentimentally important as a wedding ring. I continue to find things in weird places in her MC room...Monday one of her bras was in the trash, her hairbrushes were in her art box, etc. etc. Part of every visit is undoing such things and putting things back where they are accessible.

i had a friend loose her engagement ring, a large diamond. Couldn’t find it until a year later when they defrosted their deep freeze. It was in solid ice at the bottom! It must have slipped off her finger while she was digging into the packages.

What a delightfully safe place. I’m glad you found them.

One thing I learned about finding things is that when I knew I looked in every possible place, I was wrong. Love the bible story.

Our LO’s may lose their wedding rings when there has been significant weight loss. My husband’s ring just fell off and he never noticed. We can check to see whether rings are too loose, as time goes by.

Ah, yes. I spend time every day searching for things DW has misplaced. Recently she misplaced her glasses, and we looked everywhere. After two days, we went to an optician to order another pair. The next day, DW appeared with the glasses on her face. She didn't remember they were lost and couldn't tell me where they had been.

Last summer, DW misplaced her wedding band. Again we looked everywhere. I didn't think it slipped off her finger and must be in the house, but we didn't find it. She expressed so much unhappiness about not having a ring that we went to a jeweler and bought a replacement. Sometime later, the original reappeared, of course, and again I didn't see where it had been.

I think these items go off to where odd socks spend their time, maybe the fifth dimension, and then drop back into our world.

My dh dropped his ring down the drain. He knew he had dropped it, but when I took the drain apart and got it out I didn't mention that fact to him.

I wear both our rings. For a few years now. I just slipped his on a bigger finger so it fits. Somewhere along in maybe Stage 5 (or late 4?) I noticed it sitting on the edge of the bathroom sink. He'd taken it off to wash his hands for some reason and I just knew it would get washed down the drain, or flushed - never to be found again.

I didn't say a word, just swiped it and slipped it on my own finger for safekeeping. He didn't miss it, confirming that I had averted a disaster (at least for me, anyway). So much sentimental value and since he / we are losing so much anyway in our lives, marriage, futures, etc -- it would have crushed me for that symbol of our love to be lost as well.

DH often places things "in safe places". One morning (after a long night of sun downing) I found our cat in a drawer. DH reply "Oh I forgot that"

Cat is O.K. I thing it thought it was a game or a great hiding place. LOL
