The reason I'm writing about this is if you do have hypoglycemia, and you have Medicare A&B, a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) is now covered. After spending a few days in the hospital because I was not having symptoms when I had low blood sugar (dangerous), my doctor was trying to get a special consideration for coverage because the old rules were that you had to be a diabetic, and take at least 3 injections of insulin daily. He was unaware the rules have changed. I found out a few days ago that the rules have now been changed to cover diabetics, with or without taking insulin, or you are hypoglycemic. So if you are hypoglycemic or diabetic not taking insulin, I wanted you to know. I've had a CGM for about 6 weeks now, and it is a game changer. Yes, there is a learning curve.
