Of all things I didn't need (for a chagrined chuckle)

Sheesh. If my life weren't complicated enough, today i discovered that I have a new but unwanted farm resident: a beaver!!! He or she (or both) is cutting trees by our farm pond and attempting to dam the spillway. Unfortunately there's no such thing as a humane beaver trap, and he's picked a very inopportune place to set up business. So although it's a gratifying sign of a healthy ecosystem, my friend Ronnie is going to have to set traps. This means I can't leave the dog outside while I'm gone (he's in the water frequently), so: he's going to get to go with me to memory care for a while. My partner's been asking for it, and I've been putting it off-but now he'll have to go with me for a bit. So I guess there's an upside?

It is amazing to see the work beavers can do.

Is there a Beaver Rescue near you? Where are you going to put the beaver? What about the beaver family, baby beavers?

You are going to be very popular at the MC. Therapy dog visit day is a big hit at my mom’s AL.

We have non native nutria in our local city park. The first time I saw one swimming toward us I thought it was a cute little beaver until it crawled out of the water to come get its bread snack. I wish it had been a beaver because the underwater part was not very cute once it got on dry land! Enjoy your beaver and your great excuse to bring the most favorite visitor ever to the MC while you can!

Oh no! Just what you don’t need. At least you get to take the dog to memory care. Your partner will like that and so will the other residents.

Just when you think you might have a handle on things...... Something else you don't need.

The dog had a very good first MC trip - they are asleep together on the bed right now. I made the mistake of mentioning the beaver though and she cried. I think we have found a way to live trap though…
