My dad has been doing better lately. He is walking more pushing his wheelchair in front of him. Staying awake and watching TV instead of sleeping all the time. His appetite is good. He is more oriented while I'm driving and actually giving me directions on where to go. At the doctor's office, he's speaking up for himself and asking questions about his health concerns. His memory is better too! I think I'm putting off on hospice since he's appearing to be doing better. My mom is being a very good caretaker for my dad. I have all the POA sorted for my mom but I guess my mom would represent my dad since my dad is too far along with his dementia to make plans. Right now my nephew is POA financial. I want to be co-agent but I need to make sure I can handle money transactions because I have SSDI. I hope it's ok since I'm not getting my mom's money or property. I will go to social security office just to make sure. By being co-agent, my nephew can manage transactions in case there's things I can't do. I'm trying to think about plan of care for my parents if they can't live independent anymore. How am I going to pay for their care? And I need to look around for facilities for them. I know about CELA, and they can help getting them Medicaid when my parents run out of money. But how can I afford a lawyer? There's a lot to plan...
