A member posted a photo of a lockbox to use so that designated people could enter the home if she were unavailable. I have been searching for this post that was embedded within a thread but I can't remember the title of the thread. Does anyone remember it? It was either on this board or on the General Caregivers board.

Iris

Never mind I just found it! It's been on the Friends thread all this time! smh!

    @Iris L. @Mint and others have also been discussing them on the front porch. I'm installing one at mom's this afternoon.

    Charley, go to the "just want to talk with my friends #194" threads and see Mint's post on March 15th.

    @Iris L.

    This is the one I got for mom. It's from Amazon and was really simple to set up.

    Knoxbox.com is the company used by fire departments for emergency access in commercial and residential spaces. I'm not sure how it works in residential spaces for access other than emergency personnel. Not the least expensive option, but "official."

    Some are much stronger than others. Was wondering could they get box open once they cut it off to get key out, or do you know?

    MasterLock has one that mounts to the outside wall rather than hanging from the door handle. We got one when MIL lived with us (she did not have dementia but was visually impaired and physically frail) - it came in very handy a couple of times when her LifeAlert captured a fall while we were out and notified the fire department. They were able to get in and help her faster than we could get back to the house.
