One journey ends and another begins
Like so many lately, my best friend, partner, lover, father to our children died on Sunday, March 24. On his last day, I was at his bedside for 4 hours during which I held his hand, stroked his arm and shoulder and whispered how much I love him, and sang to him, cried an unbelievable amount of tears and told him to rest easy. I left for three hours and when I came back he was gone.I am so happy for him. He died before suffering most of the indignities of this disease. As difficult as the last year has been, I can’t imagine carrying on without him and I miss him so much.
Thanks to all of you for your support and my thoughts will be with you all
Susan

I'm so sorry for your loss but as you stated, he didn't have to suffer some of the indignities of the disease. I pray the same for my DH. Just the early stages are sometimes more than he can deal with.

My experience with loss has been I was never prepared as I thought I would be. Even when the suffering of my LO made their imminent death seem for the best, losing them felt like being hit by a Mack truck.
I hope you will be sustained by great memories of your time together and you build your new life in peace. Cyberhug coming your way from a fellow stranger on this journey none of us want or deserve to be on.
