So yesterday was a particularly frustrating morning with Mom. Angry about money and lying people, and all sort of nasty comments. I was having a very hard time keeping my compassion and my Ms Dementia glasses weren’t working! decided I needed to escape and went down to the beach to walk around and let tranquillity envelope me. I am always on the lookout for nice shells whole or broken. And I found a very nice whelk shell vibrant colors and intact. I walked a bit more and saw what I thought was another beautiful whelk but upon picking it up saw that a worm molluscs had ate away many areas of the shell. It suddenly popped into my head that this was what my Mom’s brain must be like. I believe it was God’s way of reminding me of her condition. She has to get the whole picture with many parts gone. Today my compassion level is higher and I pray all of you find ways to maintain yours.

Thanks for sharing that. It is a very good analogy.

Thanks foe your vivid reminder that you must choose to switch on compassion for our LO, because it is indeed a grueling undertaking, that really takes its toll on our bodies and minds. A true act of servitude.

I absolutely love that you took a walk on the beach, and that analogy. It’s such a powerful epiphany you had! Thank you for the reminder.
