New

Just wanted to reach out for support. My DH was recently diagnosed with VD. Very forgetful and has difficulty with certain tasks. Gets lost if he drives out of the neighborhood but recognizes this and asks for directions. But he drives less overall. He is a long term diabetic which has impacted his health.
Just wanted say hello and introduce myself. Thank you all

I am New to this group and very happy to have found you. I had a small brain bleed-hemorrhagic stroke sometime in December. I had been to my doctor (he and the hospital are about 50 miles away from our home) before Christmas and he set me up for a CT scan on December 17th for memory problems. On our way home I got a call from the hospital and the nurse said they couldn't find me and where was I. I told them we were on our way home. She said I had a brain bleed and needed an MRI so I got panicky and wanted to go back to the hospital. She said since it was small I could come in the next morning which we did. The MRI confirmed the brain bleed. The doctor then told me I needed an MRA which I got on the 29th of December. Because of all of this I asked the doctor to refer me to a Neurosurgeon to see if my brain is still bleeding which he did. My first visit was on February 13th with an ARNP and was tested for all kinds of memory disorders and her report said "Alzheimer's disease can't be completely excluded. Areas of greatest deficit on cognitive testing (processing, executive dysfunction) would be more consistent with vascular etiology. Presentation today is not largely concerning for an atypical neurodegenerative process." She did give me the diagnosis of MCI-Mild Cognitive Impairment and she made an appointment for me in 6 months and I could see the neurosurgeon about my brain bleed if HE thought I needed to if further monitoring of my subarachnoid bleed is "deemed necessary."
I am now trying to find out what my problem with my memory is. I was told to do the MIND diet, get more vitamin B12, go to a speech therapist, get a tracker on my phone so my husband can find me if I get lost, etc.
I did take a blood test for my risk of Alzheimer's and it came back "intermediate" whatever that means.
I'm sorry everyone for the length of this introduction, but I wanted you all to know my history. I am so frustrated. I just need any advice anyone can give me. My DH is an absolute gem and so helpful. He helps a lot around the house and drives me around, but since his retirement he sometimes drives grain semi's so he's not here all the time. He doesn't want me talk about whatever is wrong with me and I thought maybe we should make plans for our future. Today I also found out he may have some serious health problems himself through some tests he had taken very recently. I promise the next time I post it won't be this long.
Thank you all for being here.
