Allowing myself a snarky moment

MIL’s stepdaughter talks the talk but does not walk the walk — she rarely visits MIL in MC nor does she offer to help me with caregiver responsibilities.
She finally visited her stepmother in MC and told me “I really should visit more often because she lights up every time she sees me”.
Actually MIL lights up for everyone - me, the CNAs, the custodian, and the FedEx guy! And I doubt she even recognizes her stepdaughter.

No shame in the snark game.

In my life situation, I wouldn’t be sane without some snark!!! Sounds like her comment unintentionally summed up her cluelessness 🤣

    Snark away!

Like @housefinch I would have gone insane without the snark. My s.o. indulged me, and Peggy's friend M is about as snarky as I am, so we snarked together. 😄

I love snarky people. You'll get this. My SIL visited last week for the first time since before xmas. I quite deliberately hung the wooden star she gave her brother for xmas in the bathroom for her visit.

Snarky is how some of us cope.

Personally, I'd ask her, correct that, invite her to check on her mom at such and such a time on Saturday. Give her a job. If she steps up great. If not, its no big deal.
