Bathroom
hello! Recently my dad who has EO has been waking up in the middle of the nights to use the bathroom and he has been unable to find the toilet. Causing him to pee on the carpet and honestly anywhere except the toilet! Any advice? I’ve thought about the alarms to wake me up when he gets out of bed but I’m looking for something else as I am going away in a few weeks and I know my brother will not be fond of that idea of waking up every time dad does! I’ve tried keeping the lights on in the bathroom too but he either unplugs them or ignored them completely. Has anyone else found any solutions for problems like this? I’ve thought of diapers too but he will just take them off while sleeping.

There are garments you can buy that fasten in the back so that he can't take them off. That's probably your best bet if not using an alarm. Look at buckandbuck.com.…

We used cameras that would notify me of movement and sound via Bluetooth to my phone. When notified I could take a look while still in bed whether I needed to attend to mom or could stay put, watch and wait. Was kind of a peaceful way as opposed to an alarm upsetting us both.
I wonder if your brother would rather wake than deal with the mess’ later.0 -
I’m worried about him having anxiety about not being able to take them off. He is easily stressed out. I have tried motion lights and voice sensors and anything else I can think of. I have started to use the alarm that will wake me up but it’s no help, I cannot seem to get to him quick enough. He has no idea what he’s doing, it’s almost like he is sleepwalking.

This put me in mind of a Teepa Snow video I watched. She mentioned a facility she worked in that had colored tape that led to the toilet. This was in an area that also had hand rails that may have contributed to the success. Is there any way you could lay down bright colored tape from bed to toilet?

Hand rails may help as will having a light path to the bathroom and painting the rim a bright color. I am assuming the carpeting is not in the bathroom.

Motion sensor lights have been a gamechanger for us, they have a lot of cheap options on Amazon.0
