Mom long distance

Hello, I'm new here, my mom was diagnosed with dementia a year ago, and has been on aricept ever since. She seems almost back to normal. Almost that is. She got this diagnosis after a head injury. Could she have possibly been misdiagnosed?

    Probably should get a second opinion if you feel that there is a question about her diagnosis.

    Hi ashfisher and welcome to the forum. Yes, she could have been misdiagnosed, there's no real way to distinguish dementia from traumatic brain injury except the passage of time. That's really wonderful that she's improved. Hard to know how much of it is due to the Aricept but who cares, really-as long as she's tolerating it.
