PWD tend to "loop", to run through the same set of questions and comments repetitively. One advice is to eliminate "triggers", whatever it is that causes the PWD to enter the loop. I've been doing that already to some extent by discarding letters, etc., for which DW wants an explanation. But there's one trigger that's hard to eliminate.

Our DD (dear dog) has some hair loss on her back. The vet does not have an explanation and, therefore, a therapy. DD is almost always in our presence, and definitely when we walk her, so the trigger is always there. And the loop goes something like:

DW: I'm really concerned about DD's hair loss. Has she seen anyone? (DW sometimes uses the term "dog doctor".)
Me: Yes, I took her to Dr. C recently, and he said he didn't know what was wrong or what to do about it.
DW: Will it grow back?
Me: I hope so, but I don't know.

You can imagine that this loop gets old on a 1/2 hour walk.

there are some very lightweight summer wear for dogs. My daughter lives in a high humidity area and her dog has a skin condition. She said the lightweight dog wear works perfectly and it has helped with his itching.

My DH gets in loops as well. Why one thing will loop and another won’t, is beyond me.

It's weird that the dog wear would be for my benefit, not hers.

In my case, almost everything seems to be a trigger.

A dog t-shirt might keep the dog from licking his back, if he does that, and eliminate some of the irritation.

Our dog does not have any skin issues other than the lost hair. Our vet says it might be "alopecia X", a fancy way of saying DD has lost hair with no obvious cause. FWIW, he suggested giving her melatonin, which has help hair growth in some circumstances. Also, FWIW, she has a double coat, so she's not bald. It's just her beautiful outer coat that's partially gone.
