Hurt my back

Yikes! Today I was stooping over my desk and when I straightened up, my lower back snapped and a jolt of pain shot down my back. I took Tylenol but I don't have anything stronger. I'm scared because when my dad hurt his back, he couldn't get out of bed the next day. He had to call 911 to bring him to the ER and found out he actually broke his back! He had surgery done. I hope I didn't seriously hurt my back. I left my front door unlocked in case I have to call 911 should I can't get out of bed.

Thank you for the update. And I'm thankful you could update - I was concerned that you might have needed the feared visit to an ER. I hope you find relief from the pain and some sleep today.

Come Tuesday if I'm still having problems, I'm gonna see my PCP.

Sorry to hear about your back, but perhaps it might be wise to follow up anyway.

I recently found out I have age-related scoliosis, as the rings around the lower vertebrae never fused correctly. PT has been a great help now strengthening the core to avert potential problems. Good idea to follow up.

Thanks Susan. I'm just waiting and see how it goes. I do have a good doctor just in case…

That is good. I went to doc because of a neck issue, and told her that at times my back bothered me. She directed an x-ray, and I got quite the surprise. So yes, just doing what we can… as usual, right! ;)

After hurting yourself like this, its always best to follow up with your PCP. I'm glad the Advil is working for you. Have you tried a heating pad? Its just a thought.

Hi eaglemom! I had a good painless night. What a relief! Now I'm dealing with incontinence. Sigh...
