This is very interesting. It confirms my thoughts - we started having a "concert" night every Friday evening playing songs for hours…..my hope is that when he forgets who I am, (if he ever does) the music will bring back the good time we had listening to the music and he will be able to find peace in the music. Thanks so much for sharing the article.

This was my experience as well. All '80s music, but particularly Madonna and Fleetwood Mac, would always get Peggy to smile - I could often redirect her with one of those bands too. Then there was the day near the end of stage 6, we were sitting in her room in memory care chair dancing to Prince's Kiss. Even near the end Fleetwood Mac delivered.

yes, music is definitely one of our go-to activities when things get dicey . My HWD/Alz may not remember the words but he remembers the melody and often hums.

I play the piano for dad. He gets so happy, clapping his hands to the beat.
