Stages of Alzheimer’s

I am not familiar with the stages of Alzheimer’s. My husband is 81 years old and first exhibited signs of dementia about 5 to 6 years ago. Now he would not be able to live alone. He sometimes can’t find the trash can, the bathroom and other things that should be familiar. He thinks he is still working and sometimes needs to get ready for work or meet someone, etc. Sometimes he thinks he still lives at his boyhood location. Sometimes he thinks he should “go home” even though we are already here at home. In the mornings, he seems to know he is at home, knows who I am, etc. But the delusions worsen in late afternoon and early evening. What stage of Alzheimer’s is he likely to be in?
