Sometimes you have to laugh

So, just when life gets you down, sometimes you have to laugh. Last night my DH started to panic. "We have to get out of here! I know what I'm talking about. We don't have security clearance. You need to go cook dinner across the street." None of this made any sense, of course, but the best line was, "Where can I find dinner on a string with dessert attached?" Oh well, while none of it made any sense, I sure did get a laugh out of it - especially the dinner part! Dinner was not on a string and I didn't have any dessert to provide!

My dad believed he owned all the houses on his street and would sometimes suggest that that mom go cook and clean in the others or that they sleep in a different one nightly.

With mom's current word finding issues, dinner on a string might mean fish. Last week she asked my niece for some kitchen papers. Poor girl had no idea, but I immediately guessed paper towels although baking parchment or waxed paper are also reasonable guesses.

Keep an eye on TV fare— dad often conflated mom's crime dramas as his real life and would report having been kidnapped and murdered the night before.
