just wondering if your LO had this blood test as part of the AD diagnosis process.

    Hi mimi and welcome to the forum. This is a relatively new test, just commercially available through Quest diagnostics since the end of April 2024. So I doubt that many here have had it, and it certainly isn't enough to make a diagnosis as a single entity. It would probably be done along with other tests possibly including Lumbar puncture, measurements of amyloid proteins, and PET scanning.

    Mimi and all: important study just out in JAMA and reported in the Washington Post this morning that this test was very successful in diagnosing Alzheimer's—90% accuracy. However, the test subjects already had MCI or dementia—not clear that it can be used for screening asymptomatic people, but for diagnosis once symptoms are present, it may turn out to be a big help. I'll add a link, but it may be behind a paywall.
