    welcome to the forum. Your loved one likely has anosognosia and is unable to perceive that he/she is impaired. This is quite different from denial. You cannot reason with them and shouldn't try. Do you have power of attorney for healthcare and finances? You need it to force a change in the living situation and will probably have to do it without their consent. If you don't have it, talk to a certified elder law attorney right away (look at nelf.org for list of such attorneys by location).
