Just wanting some support. My dad was diagnosed with Early onset Alzheimer's in September of 2023 and it seems that it is progressing very fast. He now needing help putting on clothes, seeing things that are not there, moving his hands like he is fixing something in the air, bothering well, and struggling with holding things in hand like cup to drink with. Have any of you had this? What was steps you took?

    Hi and welcome.

I am sorry for your reason to be here but pleased you found this place. EO is an especially heartbreaking situation.

That does sound like a faster than typical progression even for EO which can progress more rapidly that LO. Have you talked with his doctor about the changes you're seeing?

    Hello Mherrman24 and welcome.

My dear husband had early onset. He had many of the symptoms that you described with the exception of seeing things that are not there. Symptoms are often varied among individuals. My DH would frequently pill his hands (rub his fingers together), his motor skills became impaired, he needed assistance dressing. My husband also had problems hearing me and sometimes comprehending what i was saying. I had to make a point to always face him when I was talking to him. I would use short sentences and straightforward words.

It may be beneficial to discuss the behaviors and symptoms you are observing with a health care provider.
